Welcome to my new series, tarot horoscopes! I’ve been blogging about Astrology for the past three years, and I’ve been avoiding writing horoscopes because “everyone writes horoscopes”. Well Emily, duh. Horoscopes are a huge part of Astrology, and while I strive to be unique in everything I do…the people love horoscopes. So here I am giving you, the people, weekly horoscopes. In an effort to make these unique, I’ve decided to incorporate tarot into the mix to see what Spirit has to say about our weekly transits as well. For this week, January 22nd, 2024, I’m pulling tarot horoscopes from the traditional Rider Waite Smith deck. Let’s get into it!

January 22nd, 2024 – January 28th, 2024 Astrology

Pluto conjunct the Sun in Aquarius

There are some major planetary shifts occurring this week. I believe that we can tap into the energy of all of the planets and make the experience negative or positive if we want. We are at the mercy of the planets, and we have the ability to see the silver lining through our personal challenges. On January 20th, 2024, Pluto and the Sun entered Aquarius. The Sun enters every zodiac sign every single year; ergo, we have birthdays, or Solar returns when the Sun returns to the place it was when we were born. Pluto however, moves much slower. It takes 200 plus years for Pluto to return to the sign it was in when we were born. With that said, we don’t experience a personal Pluto return, but that doesn’t mean we don’t feel Pluto as it shifts throughout the galaxy.

The Sun represents illumination and consciousness, while Pluto represents destruction and transformation. That is to say, a major transformation will be coming to light in your Aquarius house, which we’ll get into in the January 22nd, 2024 tarot horoscopes below.

Full Moon in Leo

On Thursday January 25th, 2024, the Moon will be full in Leo. Full Moons occur when the Sun is opposite the Moon in the sky. And as we just discovered, the Sun will also be conjunct Pluto this week. In other words, the Full Moon in Leo will be opposite the Sun and Pluto in Aquarius. What does this mean? DOOM! Just kidding. Full Moons are also very common and occur monthly. The Moon represents emotions and moods, and when the Moon is full – our emotions and moods are often amplified. Some people feel exhausted by this energy, while others are energized by it. Rather than hear my opinion of what this energy will do to you, sit with it yourself on Thursday. If meditation isn’t your thing, then sit with a journal and write down your feelings. It can be hard to pinpoint the meaning behind your feelings, but with Pluto and the Sun fueling this Full Moon in Leo, it might be easier to find power in your emotions this week.

Mars conjunct Mercury in Capricorn

Mars and Mercury connect at the same degree on Friday January 26th, 2024, Saturday January 27th, and Sunday January 28th. Keep in mind, Mars is the planet of action and aggression, and Mercury is the planet of communication and intellect. With all of this energy in Capricorn, the ambitious and goal oriented zodiac sign, this could be a good weekend for accomplishing goals that have been stuck in your head for a while.

Uranus Direct in Taurus

Uranus has been retrograde in Taurus since August 28th, 2023 and will station direct on Saturday January 27th, 2024. When a planet stations direct, that doesn’t mean everything is hunky dory all of a sudden. Retrogrades are for reflection, and Uranus is the planet of rebellion and chaos. I’ll be the first to admit, I’m not very educated on the Israel Palestine war, or even the Russia Ukraine war… so talking about it is risky business for me. With that said, I’m not going to dump my opinion of this subject on you. All I know is that war is brutal and genocide is happening. Unfortunately, as Americans living in a tech savvy world, we can choose to skip this news on our feeds every day. So one thing I’ve personally been reflecting on is how I can get more educated on these subjects without delving into sketchy internet conspiracies.

We can all make a small difference to promote peace. After all, it’s no coincidence that there is a global strike occurring this week as people demand a ceasefire.

Jupiter in Taurus trine Venus in Capricorn

Lastly this week, we have good old Venus trine Jupiter on Sunday January 28th, 2024. Venus and Jupiter are traditionally benefic planets, meaning they are often working in our favor. Jupiter is the planet of growth and abundance, while Venus is the planet of love and beauty. Personally, my fourteen year anniversary is on Saturday and I plan to spend the weekend with my partner. My partner Alec is a Capricorn Sun + Taurus Moon, and I’m a Capricorn Moon + Rising, so I love that these planets are solidifying our relationship and hitting up personal parts of our charts.

Tarot Horoscopes

Disclaimer: This is my opinion formed by intuition and astrological terminology. Astrology is a complex system and horoscopes are not “one size fits all”. Aries

Aries, you got the Eight of Wands, aka the most obscure card in the deck. Woo! For the Aries risings out there, Mars and Mercury will be conjunct in Capricorn in your tenth house this week. The tenth house is the house of career and public image, so if you’ve been feeling stuck here – now is a good time to move forward and take chances. For those with Aries Suns, Moons, or other Aries placements – know that the general energy is full speed ahead. This may come with consequences, but just remember, moving energy is a good thing. Even if you move backwards, at least you are moving again.

Taurus

Taurus, with Uranus stationing direct in your sign, it’s likely you are feeling the worlds tension right now. If you’ve been blaming yourself for the stress, stop that right now. It’s not your fault that the people around you are acting up. I know it’s easier said than done, but try not to take things personally this week. Loosen your grip and let others take responsibility for their own actions.

Gemini

Gemini, I never played softball growing up, but my best friend did. The song coming to me in this moment is “way to watch, way to watch, way to watch that ball go by-e-eye.” The reason for chanting in sports is to rally the team to victory. If you don’t play sports, that’s OK, but I want you to think about a team you are a part of for a second. Maybe it’s your team at work, or your Fortnite team. Does Fortnite have teams? Anyway, I digress. The moral of the story is, play with your team this week. Play for fun, play for the win, whatever you do – just play. Chant, sing, or cry if you want to. Pour your emotions into your team, and let them know you are there cheering them on.

Personally, I’ll be cheering for the Detroit Lions this weekend…and probably crying. Actually I’ll definitely be crying, whether they win or lose.

Cancer

Cancer, you may be feeling defeated this week. Or you may be doing the defeating. Either way, be careful with your words. Just because your feelings are hurt, doesn’t mean you need to go return the blow. Revenge really isn’t that sweet, but if you do slip up and say something you shouldn’t have – own it. It hurts to tell the truth, but clearing the air is sometimes necessary in relationships.

Leo

Leo, the Astrology of January 22nd, 2024 – January 28th, 2024 is powerful for you. With a Full Moon in your sign, opposite Pluto in Aquarius, it’s likely your emotions will be high. I’ll be honest, I slept a lot in church, but I’m thinking of the prayer “give us this day our daily bread… and lead us not into temptation…etc, etc.” All I remember after hearing this prayer, was how I had to go up and eat a stale cracker, that I guess was the body of Christ? I don’t know. I’m sorry for the blasphemy here as I struggle to get to the point. In essence, what I got out of this prayer was that God will always provide for us. When times are tough and it feels like no one is listening, the Universe delivers.

You may not feel it right away, so focus in on Spirits messages this week. Track the synchronicities, google the meaning behind your weird dream, ask yourself why that “random” animal appeared in your back yard. Then remember, you are supported.

Virgo

Virgo, Sunday is shaping up to be a lovely day for you and your fellow Earth signs. Even if you feel exhausted from the week, take some time to focus on the things you love. For Virgo risings, Venus will be entering Capricorn in your fifth house of pleasure and creativity. Think about things you love creating, or have loved creating in the past – and go create those things! Play music, color in a coloring book, just chill. You deserve it!

Libra

Libra, leaving may not be the best decision this week. Your soul yearns for adventure, but you don’t need to uproot your whole life in order to explore. With the current South Node in Libra, you may be worried about being stuck in your comfort zone. But don’t you worry, don’t you worry child. Dwelling on the past and wishing things could be like they used to be does not mean you are ungrateful of the present moment. It may just mean you wish things were simpler like they used to be, or that you want your current life to be fun and freeing like it was when you were younger.

Hope, dream, dwell, imagine. The life you desire will come to you, no need to chase it.

Scorpio

Scorpio, you are comfortable with Mars energy. What do I mean by that? You are ruled by Mars, and Mars energy is action oriented. You are not afraid to get up and make decisions. Be a boss this week. Tell it like it is, even if it hurts peoples feelings. You can’t make everyone happy all of the time. The Emperor doesn’t worry about making people happy, he has to lead them to victory, success, and overall – survival. With all that said, don’t be surprised if people want to challenge you this week. Stay strong, and stand up for yourself and your people.

Sagittarius

Oh Sagittarius, I’m sorry your heart aches. The heart is the center. It’s what makes everything go around. The body needs the heart to beat in order to survive. When you feel as if you’ve been stabbed in the heart, you feel as if you can’t move. Tend to your body this week. Hold your heart, eat heart healthy foods, and watch heartfelt rom coms. Hearts are tender, but resilient. The body can survive even after the heart has been attacked. Don’t give up.

Capricorn

You know how I told Libra’s not to walk away this week? I’m gonna tell you the opposite Capricorn. Walk away. Listen to your gut and go. Pluto has been terrorizing your sign for a while now, but it’s moving into Aquarius again (Pluto will be back in Capricorn for the final time from September 1st, 2024 – November 19th 2024, then it stays in Aquarius. I promise, the torture ends later this year). Pluto has transformed you in powerful ways and you know it. You know who you are, how you feel, where you want to be in life, what you want to be doing. So be yourself, feel your feelings, live where you want to live, work where you want to work. Don’t settle for less than you are worth.

With Mars and Mercury in your sign, it’s time to put your thoughts into action. With Venus in your sign, it’s time to go after what you love. Life is worth living.

Aquarius

Aquarius, Pluto has moved into your sign and you got the Devil card. Does this mean you should buy into the TikTok tarot readers doom and gloom readings? No. The Devil card seems scary, but it’s an essential card that we all journey through at some point in our lives. Power and control are human themes that we all struggle with. Everyone wants power because power makes us feel secure. And everyone wants control because control makes us feel secure.

What is security to you? Does a nice home in a decent neighborhood make you feel secure? What about carrying mace when you go out? Does that make you feel secure? Or maybe secure attachment is what you’re after. Whatever it is that makes you feel secure, grab hold of that. Don’t shame yourself for wanting to feel safe in your own skin.

Pisces

Pisces, I’m going to talk about Saturn with you for a minute. Although I didn’t talk about Saturn in these January 22nd, 2024 tarot horoscopes yet, that doesn’t mean Saturn energy isn’t present. Saturn is the planet of boundaries and responsibility, and as you know, Pisces doesn’t like boundaries and responsibility. Pisces are dreamy, boundary-less escape artists.

Lean into this archetype this week. With the Queen of Swords reversed, you don’t need to grab the reigns on your thoughts. Let your mind wander as far as it wants to wander. The boundary of thought is limitless with you. Wild dreams make for great art.

Summary

As you can see from these January 22nd, 2024 tarot horoscopes, major planetary shifts don’t have to be scary. Humans are interconnected and the planets affect us all. Tarot and Astrology are tools that help us understand what’s happening to us. Can we predict the future and avoid all heart break? I don’t think so, but I do believe we can tune in to the spiritual energy that surrounds us and use it to find faith, strength, and the courage to carry on.
