Since I was on an Instagram hiatus when Venus entered Cancer, I’ve decided to work it into my Uranus in Taurus retrograde post. Taurus is Venus ruled after all, I think we can make this work. 😍
Estimated reading time: 11 minutes
I know it’s like every other week I announce that I’m going on a social media detox, but it’s exactly what I needed to do, so I am not ashamed! Even if your job revolves around social media, we all need a social media break every now and then! We all know the positive affects of social media but we also know the negative ones; so check in with your mind and body, are you feeling overwhelmed and feel like your scrolling for hours? Take a break! No shame in that. You will not miss anything! What you need to know, will come around to you, I promise.
During my time off, I signed up for a virtual astrology summit by Radiant Astrology and learned so much! I’ve only seen the first day (out of 3) videos but I’m already so open and ready to learn more about astrology! Give me all the knowledge!! I even signed up for the Fresh Voices in Astrology summit this weekend with more videos! Sure I splurged a little, but I consider this my schooling…It makes me happy, and it opens my mind to new possibilities, and it helps me to give you all better astrological information. Plus it supports the wonderful, amazing astrologers that are teaching me so much-worth it!
Now that I’ve caught you up on my weekend Instagram media break, let’s get into Uranus Rx in Taurus and Venus in Cancer. I’m still learning about transits and aspects so I’m gonna stick to the basics of what I know about these planets in these signs. This is the basics so after reading this, keep this stuff in mind over the next few weeks. What comes up for you? Does it resonate with what I’m saying? Does something totally different happen for you? Apply the basics I’m giving you here to your own birth chart. Where is Taurus and Cancer in your birth chart? Do you have any planets in those signs that are being affected by Uranus and Venus? It gets complicating when you get into the transits so don’t worry if this is over your head.
Simply learning some terms associated with these planets and zodiac signs will help you grasp the basics and eventually dissect your own chart like a pro. If you really want to know how exactly you will be affected by these major 2020 transits, get you an astrology reading! There are so many great astrologers out there who are willing to help you flow through the crazy times with as much ease as possible. Maybe someday I will be one of them…a girl can dream right?
Alright, let’s keep this astrological learning train chugging!
Venus in Cancer
(From about August 7th-September 5th)
Uranus Rx in Taurus
(From about August 15th-January 1st 2021)
So between August 15th and September 5th, Uranus is retrograde and Venus is in Cancer. These are the dates I’m focusing on for now, don’t even get me started on November’s forecast! I’m keeping it basic here.
What is Venus in Cancer?
Venus is the planet of Attraction, Beauty, and Love.
Cancer is the sign of Compassion, Home, and Nurture.
Sounds like a beautiful combination right?!? Right! So why are we all still fighting? We still got Mars in Aries doing its thing, squaring Saturn in Capricorn. And Pluto and Jupiter tearing shit up in Capricorn as well, but we aren’t here to talk about the madness. The madness of the world is completely necessary, but remember the beauty of the world is always present as well. Both are completely necessary to feel into and balance is the key to endurance. So let’s talk about both beauty and madness. We have a long fight ahead of us guys, gotta stay balanced!
Plugging these key words together, we get:
Attracting Compassion– have compassion for others and they will have compassion for you.
I so need to channel this! Like many of you, I have been kicking and screaming and fighting so much this year. I was lost in the blame circle that’s spreading around, but it’s time to get out of that cycle. Let’s zoom out from the fight and see people for what they are, people.
How do we find compassion for one another in these dark times? The Man is tearing us apart. The Man is seemingly unaffected by the chaos and is LOVING this mess. We gotta sit with ourselves and connect with our end goals. What are we fighting for? Ending systemic racism? If this is the case then who are we really fighting, our racist neighbors? Or the Man?
Reminds me of a scene from one of my most favorite movies ever: School of Rock
Battle of the Bands director : What do they all have?
Dewey Finn : It’s a rare blood disease: “Stick-it-to-da-man-noisis”.
Battle of the Bands director : What’s that? I’ve never heard of it.
Dewey Finn : You’re lucky. Because it’s hell.
Remember what you are ultimately fighting, the rest is just noise.
How do we attract compassion when it feels like the worlds gone mad and compassion is lost? Maybe we have to distance ourselves from our loved ones who don’t agree at this time. Yes we need to have the difficult conversations but sometimes it leads to screaming and crying and is ultimately unproductive. We gotta take a step back, find out what’s really triggering us deep down, and give compassion to ourselves first.
Give compassion and you will gain compassion in return.
I was just in the ineffective screaming phase (which NEEDED to happen-so we shouldn’t be ashamed of this phase). But now I’m in the distance phase. There are bigger forces to fight than our families and friends right now. Cancer also rules the family and home so watch out for the tension there; with all these major planets (Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto) in Cancer’s opposite sign – Capricorn, there can be added tension (opposition = tension but opposition can also = balance). If we have to take a step back from them, we have to take a step back. Don’t let them shame you for that either! Check in with yourself, do what you need to do.
Beauty in the Home– how many of you focused on cleaning up your home and beautifying it when quarantine hit? How many of you have neglected the home care these past couple months? You are not alone!
Clean up your house, dust, vacuum, clean out the fridge. For many of us, our homes are our safe zones and when we neglect them, we neglect our inner safety. Safety has been a major concern this year, so I say whatever we can do to feel safe, let’s make it a priority. Many of us have neglected our homes for far too long. We used to go go go all the time. 2020 is showing us we can’t do that anymore. Just because restaurants are open, doesn’t mean we have to go to one every single day and avoid our responsibilities at home. I have a feeling we’ll be cooped up in our homes again this fall/winter; might as well prepare and beautify that home now. (And stay in and stop the spread of COVID so innocent people stop dying…again maybe that’s just my opinion…)
Love and Nurture– Love and nurture yourself. Love and nurture others.
“Love is the cure and courage is the weapon, we can use to overcome.”
Snoop Lion – Rebel Way
This Snoop lyric sounds like a major fucking Leo season Venus in Cancer statement if I’ve ever heard one! Remember we’re still in the sun sign of the Lion…so trust your heart! Reach down inside and find that love. Remember that love. Spread that love. Yes, have the courage to take care of yourself at this time; but also, can we look inside and find even more courage to take care of our neighbor’s at this time? Let’s find out what we all really need, OK? What are we all fighting for? How can we all come together? What can we do to keep all of us, alive, well, and free? Love and nurture, baby.
What is Uranus in Taurus?
Uranus is the planet of Freedom, Rebellion, and Unpredictable Changes
Taurus is Fixed Earth. The sign that rules Mother Earth. And when I mentioned earlier that Venus rules Taurus, in a nutshell that just means that they share similar themes. So we can see, Venus is Attraction-Taurus is Materialistic, Venus is Beauty-Taurus is Elegance, Venus is Love-Taurus is Sensuality, do you see the similar themes here?
Freedom, rebellion, unpredictable changes…in Taurus-Fixed Earth. Life as we know it on planet Earth has been SHAKEN up this year. Like woah! For real. Many of us are seeing this as a bad thing, but it really doesn’t have to be. The systems that weren’t working are shaken up, the seemingly meaningless lives we led pre-COVID have been shaken up (maybe that was just my life…). But what I mean is that, what we knew of life on Earth before this year – is no longer.
Taurus as a fixed earth sign, also rules over security. Our sense of security has been challenged in ways it hasn’t ever before in our lifetimes. That is not something to discount. As we blame and point fingers at each other, we have to stop and realize that we are all scared and feeling unsafe. And if someone says they aren’t (you know the “everything is fine, this will all go away after the election” people), I believe they are in denial…this is a scary time, guys. Even though we’ve been through war and disease in our lifetimes before, this feels so much bigger. The paradigm is majorly shifting this time.
Uranus is a generational planet, meaning it’s effects are large. It’s movements are nothing to take lightly. But we all have the ability to see the good in each and every planet and sign. There is a high vibration of each planet and sign. And a low vibration of each planet and sign.
Low vibe Uranus in Taurus shows that the Earth is rebelling. We have treated her poorly and she is angry. Chaos is forming.
High vibe Uranus in Taurus is showing us the beauty in unpredictability. It is showing us the beauty in connecting back to our bodies, back to earth, back to the 5 senses for healing. As the economy crashes and our material items mean less, nature means so much more!
What About Uranus Retrograde?
Hello Uranus Retrograde. The Astro Twins explain retrogrades very nicely. They explain retrogrades as a time when a planet appears to go backwards, so think of the other “re” words like reevaluate, research, revisit, reconnect, etc. So with those terms in mind, what does this Uranus retrograde mean for us?
Re-evaluate the fight.
What causes are you supporting as you rebel against society? We know a rebellion needs to happen now, but why? Reconnect with your why. Why are you fighting the fight your fighting? What are you standing up for? Some of us lose sight of the “why” in all the chaos. Remember the why.
Research the cause.
What new developments are your causes making? What progress have they made so far? Sometimes we get so focused on an end goal that we forget to stop and express gratitude for how far we’ve come. Think about what your cause has accomplished and be proud that you contributed to that progress.
Revisit the original thought.
We are constantly evolving. Some things I believed two years ago, I don’t necessarily believe now. So why am I clinging to those beliefs? What’s wrong with evolving my thought processes?
You won’t know what you truly believe and want to fight for until you sit with yourself and figure it out. Take some time out for yourself to nurture (especially while Venus is in Cancer until September 5th!), tend to your mind and body, think back to a year or two ago, what were you doing? Were you happy? Were you frustrated? Why? What made you feel free at that time? How has that evolved? What does freedom mean to you now? You see, we are always changing, growing, evolving. When we reconnect with these questions and embrace our expansions, we create a better world for everyone.
Uranus is retrograde for the rest of the year. We have a long fight ahead of us, so we can’t burn out and give up. We have to pause, remember why we are fighting, then keep going. Even if we simply pivot and pick one cause that means a lot to us rather than all 4 causes we’ve been fighting. Life does not slow down so we have to keep fighting. We will fight most effectively when we sit with our shit. If it’s not a hash tag already I wanna make it a hash tag #sitwithyourshit2020
You are a reflection of your outer world. Distractions and meaningless blame does NOTHING to create change. The sooner we all accept this shit storm we’re in and go within ourselves to find out how we personally are contributing to the shit storm, the sooner we find peace. Inner peace for ourselves and outer peace for the world.
