A Big List of Scorpio Artists (and a playlist)

Scorpio season is the season of endings, and what better way to end this season than with a big ol’ list of Scorpio artists?

Tracking real life patterns is the best way I’ve found to learn Astrology. To demonstrate, I will highlight a couple patterns I found throughout this list of Scorpio artists. First, I noticed right away that there are so many one name Scorpio musicians on this list! Seeing that Scorpios are associated with power, it just makes sense that many of these artists have the guts to pick one name and go with it.

Another pattern I noticed among these Scorpio musicians was how many of them sang about being a Scorpio. From my experience, it doesn’t matter if you are into Astrology or not, if you are a Scorpio, without a doubt, you KNOW you are a Scorpio. I believe that due to Scorpios inherent connection to occult practices, Astrology just comes naturally to them.

But if you’re ready, skip ahead to the playlist now.

Katy Perry is a prime example of a powerful Scorpio stellium. Below are a few of her Scorpio aspects reflected in quotes from this Rolling Stone article.

Pluto conjunct the Sun- “I hear it’s great times, in your 30s. And also, as humans, we’re living three times our life expectancy, so as everyone would say, 30 is the new 20. Age is very much an attitude in my world, and I still feel very young. I feel like I’m 22. If you asked me how I felt, I would feel 22. I think I’m very youthful, and that’s what keeps me going. To have that youthful sensibility, and that excitement about life, and discovering and absorbing. Learning information and being educated.”

Mercury conjunct the ASC- “I never wanted to be famous. That’s a byproduct of what I do. Fame is truly a byproduct of the dream that I had. People want to be recognized for their work, but nobody wants to be famous for nothing. Fame is, I think, disgusting. And it’s really hard to separate your public life from your personal life. Useless fame is disgusting. I think if you’ve got a talent or something to offer, a creative thing to offer to the world, then I think that’s beautiful. But that famous for nothing thing is kind of gross. It’s a bummer. And, you know, I only ever just wanted to make music and be on stage and play, and offer up my perception of how I view the world, through the songs that I write.”

Saturn conjunct the Moon- “Now I know – first and foremost, self-love, and then give love away. Back then it was mostly just me giving love away with no self-love. I went through my ‘return of Saturn,’ is what they call it. It’s this kind of astrological thing they talk about, when the planet Saturn comes to teach you lessons, and either you reject them or accept them. And I accepted those lessons that I needed to learn. And if you reject them, it’s your midlife crisis that comes around at 50.”

Birth Chart Bonus: Björk

Scorpio, like it’s modern ruler – Pluto, is the ruler of the underworld. In fact, it’s no coincidence that Dia de Muertos (Day of the Dead) and Halloween take place during Scorpio season, because this season is a natural time for darkness, grieving, death and rebirth. Furthermore, we can see from this list of Scorpio artists, that Scorpio’s are NOT afraid to get dark, deep, and intense. Take Björk for example, as this New York Times article speaks to her big three in Scorpio and her affinity for darkness quite beautifully.

She was speaking over dinner last week during a break from rehearsals, dressed in a long pleated cloak in bifurcated marigold and purple florals, over a matching gloved jumpsuit; a glove dangled at her wrist while she ate. We sat in a space overlooking the theater and for no apparent reason — except, of course, that I was dining with Björk — the lights in the room grew progressively dimmer, until we were discussing hope and utopia and womanhood in pitch blackness. (It felt just right.)

She has a prodigal approach to creativity,” he said. “There’s this combination of real rigor and punk brought together, that creates this explosion of creativity, because it never becomes staid or safe. There’s always this yearning to reinvent.”

She moved to Spain and wrote “Homogenic,” with the realization that she was not the kind of musician who could be in the spotlight and still be creative. “I have to go in the shadow, in the corner, and have no one watch me,” she said.

Björk as a Scorpio Sun, Moon and Rising, embodies all that is Scorpio. In short, she is a shadowy spirit that puts her heart and soul into her artwork and we need her, just as she is.
