In fact, I&#8217;m often anxious because I get up in my head and feel like my problems are huge, gigantic, life altering, world ending problems. But when I stared up at the mountains, I realized how tiny me and my problems actually were in the grand scheme of things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This wedding has been a long time coming, since 2018. I love my husband, but I&#8217;ve always hated weddings. Sorry, I have Venus in Virgo&#8230;I&#8217;m not super romantic. I despise attention, I worry about everyone\u2019s feelings all the time, and I expected perfection as I planned this &#8220;massive&#8221; milestone event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-it-was-a-shotgun-wedding\">It was a shotgun wedding<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The only way I was able to overcome this extreme wedding anxiety was to get pregnant first. Again, romantic, I know. And oh yeah, SURPRISE! But truly, knowing there\u2019s a life inside me that doesn\u2019t give a shit what my wedding looked like or how anyone else felt, helped me to overcome my fears and finally tie the knot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like the mountains, my baby made me feel small this weekend. I\u2019m just a girl with a bun in the oven, trying to keep this thing cooking at the right temperature with all the right ingredients. I never needed to be the perfect bride with the coolest wedding and the best attitude. I just needed to show up, marry the man I\u2019ve loved since 2010, and hope for the best. Which is what I did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-my-wedding-was-not-the-biggest-most-important-day-of-my-life\">My wedding was not the biggest, most important day of my life<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wow, the non-romantic zingers keep on coming. But hear me out&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Every day is important. Every moment is important\u2026and big, but also small and insignificant. I\u2019m not a mountain. I\u2019m not some big, immovable force that everyone maneuvers around. Rather, I&#8217;m an anxious girl, carrying a baby in my belly (and a stubborn chihuahua in my arms), marrying my guy on top of a beautiful mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m small. I\u2019m simple. I&#8217;m sensitive.
