What do we need to know about Mars and Aries in 2020?

Personally, with the Placidus house system, I have Aries in the 3rd house of communication, siblings, and writing. With Mars in Aries for the rest of 2020, I will likely have an easier time communicating my beliefs without getting overly emotional, like I was when Mars was in Pisces. Over the past month and a half, I avoided talking to friends and family about the current political situations. Pisces is associated with escapism and sensitivity, so I can see how my emotions were extreme, as were the rest of the worlds. Although Pisces is a sensitive sign, we all act out emotions differently. Some of us acted out with anger, some with tears, and some just distracted and avoided processing their emotions altogether.

When evaluating Mars in Aries energy for the rest of 2020, look to your birth chart to see what house/houses Aries falls in. This house and the planets placed there, will shed some light on the actions you will take. Beyond that, it is important to also recognize your natal Mars placement. How do you typically take action throughout life? How does your typical approach to life blend with Mars entering Aries?

Also keep in mind, Mars usually stays in each zodiac sign for a month and a half, but Mars is taking a 6 month tour in Aries due to it’s retrograde in September 2020.

Mars in Pisces Reflection – Mars in Aries Prediction

Mars is at home in Aries. When a planet is “at home” in a sign, this means the planet and the zodiac sign share similar themes. Although aggression is a theme both Aries and Mars share, this is not inherently a bad thing. Mars in Aries can be a good and powerful transit if we learn how to direct the energy.

Moving from Pisces to Aries is especially powerful because Pisces is the last zodiac sign and Aries is the first. This planetary cycle is like a journey through the deep depths of the ocean, with an emergence in an undiscovered location. Since Mars was in Pisces for the last month and a half, it’s clear that the collective actions (Mars) were deeply, emotionally influenced (Pisces). This created tension because not everyone understood or was able to deal with this Piscean emotion in the same way. Not to mention, society has always been against us feeling our feelings. So with Mars going from Pisces to Aries, what can we expect for the rest of 2020?

Collective action moving from deep depths, to the surface

Under the surface of America, we’ve had white supremacy slowing bubbling over. And chillin’ right next to white supremacy under that surface, is the Coronavirus. Still just hanging out, spilling out bit by bit , but not enough to phase the majority of people (especially here in Missouri – it’s like nothing has happened these past few months). Intuitive people are phased, most doctors and healers are phased, but so many of us are still just letting it bubble up under the surface and not pulling it out to address it.

With all of this bubbling over slowly though, Mars in Aries says “It’s time to address this nonsense now.” We can be scared of the aggressive Mars in Aries action, or we can embrace it. Throughout 2020 so far, some of us have spent time feeling our feelings and addressing the racism within. And some of us have avoided going out with others due to the Coronavirus. It’s time for those of us who did these things to take action, stand up for all of the things we learned about ourselves and our society, and to make some real change. The problem with this 2020 Mars in Aries transit though, is that not everyone has done the Pisces work before moving on. Not everyone has sat with their feelings and addressed their demons – and over the next few months, those people will be coming in hot.

Summary

Regardless of astrology, keep in mind that we all have free will, and the ability to flow with or against the collective energy. I am choosing to embrace Mars in Aries for the rest of 2020. As an emotional water sign, it will be a challenge for me – but I will do my best not to succumb to the lower form of Mars in Aries (war and blame). Instead, I will embrace the higher form of Mars in Aries and I will stand up for my true beliefs, which are peace and equality for all.
